And finally ........
Tempus Fugit and all that!
Christmas is very nearly upon us. I don't know about you but I always start
with good intentions and end up racing around at the last minute trying
to find that elusive present. "Never again!" must be the the most oft broken
promise I ever make to myself. But then I guess I'm no different to anyone
else. It's the Seasonal Disease.. We all spend too much money. We all eat
too much and we all drink too much! We lounge around in front of the T.V.
and complain that even though we've spent an absolute fortune of Sky or
Cable there isn't a decent film to be seen! In fact, more often than not,
the words "Bah! Humbug!" spring to mind. Don't you think that it would
be really great if something completely different happened that would change
all this humdrum, routine 'celebration' business once and for all?
Well, of course, it already
has, hasn't it? And somewhere in the back of your mind you knew, didn't
you? It's just that we all forget, in the rush and panic, that what Christmas
is all about is a BIRTHDAY ! No one needs reminding of the story.
Except, perhaps, that we forget how important it was for those who followed
the star to be there, to be a part of what they believed to be a very important
occasion. Perhaps if we concentrated on 'being there' instead of the rush
and tear of the journey, we would see the true wonder of Christmas and
discover our own road to Bethlehem.
Have a Christmas full of
joy and wonder and a very Happy New Year to you all.
